The Million Waves Project vision is to provide prosthetic limbs to all individuals without affordable prosthetic options and to close the loop on ocean plastic - bringing together two unacceptable global situations and offering a practical and sustainable solution. They launched their project on Earth Day (April) 2018 in Anacortes and have just added a new chapter in Natal, Brazil this January. Most of the plastic collection comes from volunteer-run beach cleanups on the coast of Washington, but we have a "Start a Clean up" program where anyone in the country can organize a cleanup in their community and send them the plastic to turn into limbs. Their goal for 2019 is to collect 1,000 lbs of trash.
